My parents buy old or outdated computers, refurbish them, put a new operating system and resell them. My parents were able to send us two siblings in college through reselling refurbished computer. I was wondering back then, since the prices of computers are getting lower each year, why would someone would want to buy just a refurbished one. Then I found the answer when I graduated in college. When my parents sells computers, it will come along with a lifetime free service! So if the problem is some technical issues, the owners can be assured that my father will fix the problem at no extra cost. If you are going to buy a new computer it will only be covered with a year of hardware warranty and if you want to get extended years of warranty you have to pay for it.
